Port-2-Port: a brace of exhibitions in Yarmouth and King's LynnOct 12
 - Nov 21

Port-2-Port is a brace of art exhibitions curated by NCAS. In medieval times the two ports of Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn were major players in English sea-borne trade, the former broadly facing the Low Countries and also focused on fishing, the latter facing the Hanseatic League ports in the Baltic and with onward trade routes inland. Sadly both towns have steadily declined as ports for both trade and fishing, so we are drawing attention to these two beautiful and historic towns by focusing on their cultural strengths, exchanging artworks from one port with artworks from the other, exhibiting them in galleries in each other’s port and connecting them visually, despite the surprising distance that separates them. We acknowledge support from both Norfolk County Council and East Anglian Art Fund.

The Great Yarmouth artists showing in Port-2-Port are John Kiki, Emrys Parry, Brüer Tidman, Katarzyna Coleman and Bridget Heriz. The curators are Selwyn Taylor and Keith Roberts, both NCAS trustees.

The artists who will be showing in the reciprocal return exhibition, in Yarmouth, all have their studios in West Norfolk. They are Esther Boehm, Kate Giles, Lee Grandjean, Chloe Mandy and Stephen Parry and the curators are Caroline Fisher and Chris Mardell, both NCAS trustees.

NCA20 Open Exhibition

We are now finally planning the next of what used to be our regular biennial open exhibition for members. It will be four years this time, but the good news is that we have now finally been granted a slot in The Hostry at the Cathedral, pencilled in so far for early November 2020! Watch this space . . .
