 What is Contemporary Art? A talk by Jonathan P. Watts

Jonathan is a contemporary art critic and editor. With Henry Newcomb he co-runs the artist-led contemporary art gallery LOWER.GREEN in Norwich’s Anglia Square. With seven friends Jonathan is a contributor-editor of A-or-ist, a magazine of new critical writing on contemporary art.

Our special thanks this year to Ros Brown and Brian Smith for providing an exciting new venue in Heigham
Grove for this year’s AGM (there is a map included in the papers - see link below). The brief formal meeting will be followed with a talk by film maker/artist/publisher John Christie. The agenda and other papers for the meeting can be downloaded here.

John Christie has worked as both a visual artist and a broadcast film-maker over the years. As a maker of artists’ books since 1975, he has produced more than 20 limited editions for both the renowned Circle Press and his own imprint Objectif.

Art Day Trip to Peterborough

Join us for an inexpensive day out, organised by ncas trustee Chris Mardell. Following Chris’s talk last November, this trip will give you the opportunity to view many of the fine sculptures in the Peterborough Sculpture Trust collection.
Our host Vivacity will provide a buffet lunch. This will be followed by an afternoon visit to a Graham Crowley
exhibition, where Graham will give a talk.

Coach from John Lewis at 9.00am. (B&Q car park
Hall Road at 9.15am). Returning to Norwich by 7.00pm.
