Artist Humphrey Ocean (photo: Mark Alexander)
Humphrey Ocean RA is one of Britain’s most distinguished contemporary artists, renowned for his observations of people and everyday life.
Working across painting, drawing and printmaking, he finds beauty in the ordinary, from portraits and domestic objects to birds, cars and suburban landscapes.
Beginning his creative career amid the energy of the 1970s punk and new wave music scene, he has gone on to achieve widespread acclaim through major exhibitions, election to the Royal Academy, and inclusion in many of the UK’s leading public collections.
Artist presentation followed by a conversation with Dr Nick Warr, Associate Professor of Art History & Curation, UEA.
