Following a national open call for submissions, three artists were selected for a residency and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the collection at Felbrigg Hall Alec Stevens, Florence Kennard and Alida Sayer.

In the past, the families who lived at Felbrigg had a tradition of commissioning new work from artists and craftspeople. The artworks created for 'The Makers' exhibition continue this established tradition and give visitors the chance to see Felbrigg in a new light.

Felbrigg Hall, Norfolk

Felbrigg is a seventeenth century house that still retains the feeling of a family home while presenting the precious collections of some of its early residents. There are many fascinating paintings, sculptures, furniture and objects, reflecting making in all its forms and also an extensive library of books and manuscripts. The walled garden includes diverse plant species, fruit and vegetables and is rich in wildlife.

The artists appointed will have the opportunity to become inspired by Felbrigg estate, its house and grounds, during a week long residency.
